It's hard to write a brief blurb about yourself when it starts like this: I graduated with a degree in Performing Arts and Social Justice, with an emphasis in Dance. I ended up in Los Angeles where I'm attempting to start a business and make my way as an artist. One day, I woke up and went hey, I think I'm actually a starving artist. I primarily perform as a professional belly dancer, but also still have the occasional modern dance gig.

These are the things that Inspire me and the things (I like to think) I've learned, especially about being a dancer in LA. I also like to pass on information about classes, auditions and more in Los Angeles and San Francisco.

I’ve been awful about updating lately.  I’m so ridiculously busy with work and everything that I have little to no time to dance, let alone write about it.  I do have some ruminations that I need to post here but they will have to come as soon as they can.

For now, here’s what I’ve been working on dance-wise lately:

  • Just finished a Middle Eastern folk dance show.  Yes, you heard me right.  I wish I had video but I don’t yet.  We may perform it again in September and we may actually even tour with it, which would be fun.
  • Currently in rehearsal with the wonderful Rachel Lopez, working on a piece for a showcase type show in July in LA.
  • And of course, still bellydancing.  Actually getting much better at it, but since I think I’ve decided that I actually want to pursue it *gulp*, I need to work much harder and get my butt in classes.
