It's hard to write a brief blurb about yourself when it starts like this: I graduated with a degree in Performing Arts and Social Justice, with an emphasis in Dance. I ended up in Los Angeles where I'm attempting to start a business and make my way as an artist. One day, I woke up and went hey, I think I'm actually a starving artist. I primarily perform as a professional belly dancer, but also still have the occasional modern dance gig.

These are the things that Inspire me and the things (I like to think) I've learned, especially about being a dancer in LA. I also like to pass on information about classes, auditions and more in Los Angeles and San Francisco.

Been a bit without a real update of any sort and it’s basically because I’ve just been busy doing everything except dancing really, which bums me out.

  • Started dancing with a new bellydance/folk company for at least their next stage show, which is supposed to be in February, but they seem to really like me so maybe it will be for some gigs too.
  • Dancing with a jazz/thrash jazz company as well, but any future performances are kind of up in the air for a lot of reasons.
  • Can’t wait to get back into the studio with s.t.and(H)…it’s been way too long and I need to really dance!
  • Desperately want to find a decent class that I can commit to going to regularly.  I should really check out Karen McDonald’s class because I think that could be the ticket for now.
  • Have made no choreographic progress.  Bah.  I suck at motivating myself sometimes.  I’ve found some music I really dig though, so I have to get on choreographing some kind of solo.
